Participatory Budget meeting
Community Funding Meeting
The First Public Meeting will be held at Bronington School
on Wednesday 22nd March 2017
at 6.30 pm.
If you are involved in local community activities, or if you are aware of any situation where money needs to be spent for the benefit of members of our community, please put this date in your diary and come along to the meeting. Please be prepared to describe your idea, tell us how much it will cost (if you can), and to say why your idea should be funded.
The process is very simple:
STEP 1. FIRST PUBLIC MEETING
People explain their ideas and make their “pitch” for the money.
ANYONE CAN PUT FORWARD AN IDEA
STEP 2 VIABILITY & COSTING
The Community Council leads a small team who help “applicants” firm up their costings, and make sure the idea is viable.
STEP 3: SOURCING ADDITIONAL FUNDING
The team will identify additional funding from public, private and charitable sources to swell the core fund so that as many ideas as possible can be funded.
STEP 4. SECOND PUBLIC MEETING
About 3 months after the first. The viable projects are presented again, and the public meeting holds a ballot there and then if necessary to decide which projects will be funded.
Examples of how Community money has been allocated the local community include donations towards new play equipment and noticeboards at Bronington School, replacing the windows at Whitewell Parish Rooms and a footpath at Bronington Church.
